Location-based Event Notifications

If you register on our website, you have the option to subscribe to personalized event notifications (also called "Channels"). You can define up to 10 locations with individual search radii (in kilometers) and select interest categories. Each location with its settings forms a notification channel.

Processed Data

For the notification function, we store and process the following data:

  • Location Data: Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) as well as city name of the locations you have defined
  • Search Radius: Distance in kilometers within which you want to be notified of events
  • Interest Categories: Your selected event categories (e.g., music, sports, culture, family, etc.)

    • Email Notifications: Notifications for new events nearby, weekly overview of upcoming events (14 days)
    • Push Notifications (optional): Instant notifications for new events, reminders before events

  • Push Subscription Data (when push notifications are enabled): Technical data for delivery of push notifications (device token, browser information)

Purpose of Processing

Processing of this data is carried out exclusively for the purpose of providing personalized event notifications. We regularly match new or changed events with your saved locations and interest categories and send you a notification via email or push notification (depending on your settings).

Your own location: You can optionally use your current location to automatically find events near you. Use of your location only occurs with your explicit consent and is not permanently stored, but only used temporarily for the location query.

Data Sharing

No third-party sharing: Your location data and interest preferences are processed exclusively internally and are not shared with third parties.

  • Email delivery: Performed via our own mail server with our hosting provider Strato AG (see section 2)
  • Push notifications: Delivered directly to your browser via standardized Web Push protocols. Only technically necessary data is transmitted to the push services of browser manufacturers (Google, Mozilla, Apple, Microsoft). These services can technically see the delivery of the notification, but have no access to the content of your notification data or your event interests.

Storage Duration

Your notification settings, location data, and interest categories are stored until you:

  • deactivate the notification function in your account settings,
  • delete individual locations or interest categories, or
  • completely delete your account.

After deletion of your account, all associated notification data will be completely removed within 30 days.

Revocation and Deletion

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by:

  • deactivating the notification function in your account settings,
  • removing individual locations or interest categories, or
  • completely deleting your account.

After revocation of consent, no further notification emails will be sent and your saved settings will be deleted.
